Open Floor Dance

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where I live, work and dance, the Wurundjeri people and the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin nations. I recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Open Floor ™

Open Floor is a movement, dance and meditation practice that teaches us to embody and explore a variety of resources, which we can then take into our daily lives to build resilience and enhance our relationships with ourselves and with each other. As we move together we explore what it is to connect and belong to ourselves, to each other, to community and to the larger web of life. Come and join us as we learn to deepen our awareness of self and other, so that we may engage more fully with the present moment and this precious life that we have been given.

Seaford 2019

The Sunday morning dates for 2019 are:

I am teaching one core movement resource every class between March and November. If you attend all classes, by the end of the year you will have danced and reflected on each movement resource and your relationship with it, both on the dance floor and in life.

The final dance in December will be a celebration and a chance to reflect on what we have learned over the course of the year.

My intention for 2019 is to bring more play into my life so rest assured that intention will play out in the dance over this year!

What to Expect

The class begins with a warm up. There will be music playing and you are invited to find a space in the room to either dance, move, sit or lie down and connect in with yourself and take in your surroundings. There will be loose instruction as I guide and support the whole group to deepen their exploration of the 'dance'.

  • This is a 2 hour class and it is important to arrive promptly.
  • Please stay until the end to gain the full benefit of this practice.
  • Please wear loose comfortable clothing and layers.
  • Please bring a water bottle.
